Cassidy Darkstar began at Mirkfallon Lake in the Stonetalon Mountains, and there Rambleon the hunter joined him, a companion who would walk beside him through most of the road that followed. The lake cost Cassidy a fall almost at once, and he took it lightly and went on. Among the Pridewing Wyverns and their Consorts he did the work he had come for, and a Blackened Basilisk fell as well, while he stopped often to take pictures of that place. Then he climbed to Stonetalon Peak, where a Sap Beast stood against him and did not stand long, and so "Journey to Stonetalon Peak" was seen through. From the heights he passed down by the Veiled Sea and the Zoram Strand, by Lake Falathim and Maestra's Post, until he came to Astranaar. There he laid down "Pridewings of Stonetalon," and with it came a new measure of strength. He was nineteen now in the reckoning of his trade, and he marked the moment with a picture.
Northward he went into Darkshore, to Auberdine and down the Twilight Shore to Remtravel's Excavation. There Raín, a hunter, and Is, a warrior, joined him for a stretch of the way. Together they broke Cracked Golems and a Stone Behemoth, and put down the Gravelflint scouts and geomancers. With them he went into Blackfathom Deeps, carrying the errand called "Knowledge in the Deeps," and he fought through the Murkshallow Snapclaws as far as the Drowned Sacellum before the company broke apart and each went a separate way.
From Darnassus and Rut'theran Village, Cassidy crossed the Veiled Sea to Stormwind Harbor, and there Rambleon was with him again. In Cathedral Square he finished "Expanding Horizons" and took up Alexston's Reply, to be carried to Thundris Windweaver in Auberdine. In the Mage Quarter he delivered the scroll from Mauren and took on new errands. Then he walked out through Goldshire and Forest's Edge into Westfall. At the Jansen Stead, Verna Furlbrow gave him her recipe for Westfall Stew, and he brought it to Salma Saldean at Saldean's Farm. He struck down a Harvest Watcher and a Dust Devil, reported to Gryan Stoutmantle at Sentinel Hill, and fought the Riverpaw brutes and bandits about Stendel's Pond. After that he went to Nighthaven in Moonglade, where "A Lesson to Learn" was ended and the Trial of the Lake was set before him.
His road turned back to Darkshore at last. In Auberdine he put Alexston's Reply into the hands of Thundris Windweaver. At Remtravel's Excavation he met Val the shaman and Tyu the warrior, the one only in passing and the other for a short while, and he took up the matter of the absent-minded prospector. On the Twilight Shore, Daima the priest fought beside him against the Greymist Tidehunters and Oracles. There he gathered the eyes of murlocs for the stew, and found the remains of a beached sea turtle and the bones of a sea creature, both of which he brought to Gwennyth Bly'Leggonde. Then he carried a mysterious fossil to Chief Archaeologist Greywhisker in Darnassus. The fossil was not to rest there. Now it must go on, across the water, to Archaeologist Flagongut in Menethil Harbor, and the road there lay open before him.
