From the Temple Gardens to the High Seat

Cassidy Darkstar set out from Darnassus and came first into the Temple Gardens. There Rambleon the hunter joined him. Of all who walked beside him on that road, Rambleon kept faith the longest, and stayed with him through the greater part of all that followed. Together they went down by Rut'theran Village and over The Veiled Sea into Darkshore, past Mist's Edge and Auberdine, the Long Wash and Twilight Shore. They passed on by The Zoram Strand into Ashenvale, where the old names came one after another: Lake Falathim, the Shrine of Aessina, Astranaar, Maestra's Post. Then Cassidy turned north again, back into Darkshore, and came at last to Twilight Vale.

In Twilight Vale his work began in earnest. Grizzled Thistle Bears fell to him, and Giant Foreststriders, and a Moonstalker Sire. When four Grizzled Scalps had been gathered, the errand called "Buzzbox 525" was finished. From there he went on into Blackwood Den, where warriors and Ursa and shamans of the Blackwood were overcome. Companions gathered to him in that place. Andria, a hunter, walked with him for a fair stretch. Fanaandel, a druid, kept beside him only briefly. Koiya, also of the druids, came and went more than once, as travellers will. In the Den the errand "A Lost Master" was seen through, and "Escape Through Force" was taken up in its stead.

He passed then to The Master's Glaive, and there the Twilight Disciples and Twilight Thugs fell before him, many of each. From among them he won the Peerless Eye for the task named "It's All Fun and Games Until...". Andria parted from him there. Artemisa, a hunter, joined him for a short while and then went her own way. More than once in that place Cassidy paused to take a picture. Afterward he went north by the Wildbend River to Auberdine, and there he came into his twentieth level, a new strength settling upon him. He gave up both his errands in that town. In return he was handed a book, The Powers Below, which was to be borne to Gerrig Bonegrip in the Forlorn Cavern of Ironforge.

So the road turned far afield. He crossed The Veiled Sea to Rut'theran and back again, and then sailed on to Stormwind Harbor. In Stormwind City he took up "Speaking of Fortitude." In the Dwarven District he finished Elmore's Task and accepted "Underground Assault" and "Gyrodrillmatic Excavationators." He also took on "Stormpike's Delivery," a package meant for Mountaineer Stormpike in Loch Modan. By the Deeprun Tram he passed beneath the earth to Tinker Town in Ironforge. There "An Old Colleague" was brought to its end, and new errands were laid upon him: "Save Techbot's Brain," "Find Bingles," "The Day After," and "Ineptitude + Chemicals = Fun." He walked the halls of the dwarves, by the Hall of Explorers and the Forlorn Cavern, through the Mystic Ward and the Great Forge, and came at last to the High Seat. There he took one more picture. His pack was full of errands not yet done, and the ways out of Ironforge lay open before him.
